I found a 230 to be about 8'6" wide on a trailer and a 211 witha FCT folded sat 7'6" tall. S generically speaking a standard 9 wide 8 tall should do ya easily for most boats. I can do the reframing cheap and the doors installed are like 500 so it is cheap for ease of use for me. I would go at least 25 deep though.
For example, for a 11’6” boat on a trailer you might want to go with a garage door dimensions of 12 foot high and at least 10 foot in width. To cover all possible boats that you can tow without a permit, than a garage of about 14.7 feet high would cover all the bases. If your boat is above a certain height you need a permit to tow it.
Feb 15, 2009 · There is a restriction that I can't have higher than 10 feet walls on the garage, which would mean about a 9' door at max. I don't have my boat by me or I would measure, but I'm assuming it would be all of 10 ft high including tower.
Feb 27, 2019 · I put my 25' up under a 12 foot RV shed and can stand up - it will not fit into a normal garage opening - I think you would need a 10/12 foot height on your door... I've traveled with top both in travel position and all the way down (I actually prefer all the way down for travel, but don't like it laying on my sundeck for storage
Apr 29, 2011 · This is ultimately crazy - you would think that every boat manufacturer would design boats to fit inside of an 8 foot garage door - at least. Especially a boat on the 'smaller' size of the line - a Nautique 230 or comparable - I can understand if that monster wouldn't fit. …
Mar 15, 2015 · It barely fit height-wise (8 feet high door) and came up about 8-10 feet too long. The Sundancers are a bit taller than this boat, probably would nee a 10' x 10' opening and 35' depth. it would be more of a barn/industrial building than a garage. Check the Expedition's manual/specs for tow rating, but it should be fine.
Apr 27, 2016 · you can't trailer without a permit if it is over 13'6" - so I would build door to open at least 14" with finished floor and door clearance. My Baha 299 (30' boat) fits nicely under a 14' height. Building a new garage this summer at the lake house - I may go 15' on that one.
Apr 21, 2010 · The biggest problem you will immediately have is that the standard height of a U.S. garage door is 7'0/2m high. I can get my OBV in with the tower folded forward, trailer leveled with @ 6" of clearance from the highest point, the windsheild. With an XLV, even with the tower folded backward, I am guessing that it won't fit in a 7' door.
