Waimanalo Bay Beach Park – Scenic and Family-Friendly. The palm-fringed beach stretches for five miles along Oahu’s eastern shore, providing an inviting backdrop for Hollywood hits such as "Baywatch Hawaii" and "Magnum P.I." Gently sloping white sands and the protective offshore reef tame the inshore waves, making them ideal for swimmers and beginning bodysurfers.
Obviously conditions vary from day to day, but I have been able to body surf at both Hanalei and Kalihiwai at times during the summer. At other times they can be completely flat, but they are both sandy bottom beaches. Have also body surfed at Kealia, but the waves there can be pretty powerful.
