    Aug 24, 2011 · The jet boats put out very little wake. But like any other boat, you could always add ballast. I wakeboard behind mine, but even my i/o puts out a fairly small wake. Previous owner had 600 lbs of sandbags in it for extra weight and he was able to get a nice wake.

V-drives just have the drive in a V pattern but the engine is inside the boat and the prop is under the boat about 2/3 back. An I/O has the engine in the boat but the prop is behind and is tiltable.
