After experiencing this instability many times over, my solution was to build an 8 foot Rok, which is a much more stable kite than any of the 3 Doperos I have tried. @Wind Watcher - when a stronger wind is pushing a rokkaku too low, raising the tow point helps a huge amount. It allows the kite to spill lots of wind and fly at a higher angle.
