New 2000 kilometre kitesurfing distance record. Kitesurfing. Kite crazy Kiwi, Louis Tapper, successfully completed his attempt at the longest ever kitesurfing journey on 30 August. His route took him along Brazil's Atlantic coastline - a journey of 2000 kilometres completed over 30 days.
The longest kitesurfing journey is 862 km (536 miles; 465 nautical miles) and was achieved by Francisco Lufinha (Portugal) who travelled from Lisbon, Portugal towards Madeira, Portugal, from 5 to 7 July 2015. Francisco completed this record-breaking attempt as a single, non-stop journey.

Jul 30, 2009 · So far, the best documented distance record I can find is that of Kirsty Jones who set a distance record for a kiteboard when she travelled 225km (140 miles), crossing from Lanzarote in the Canary Islands to Tarfaya, Morocco, in about nine hours on May 13, 2006.
