I´m a surfer and I´ve been living in Ecuador for a year now.. Montanita and Canoa are the best surfing towns to get consistant surf and rent equipment. Mompiche has the best waves in the country when conditions are right but its a smaller town and equipment rental is more scarce but still doable. Surfing in playas (General Villamil) is also good but rental is very scarce.
